Steals and Deals: Low Season Bargains

Panama has a “high season” and a “low season”. The so-called high season is mid December through April. This period is favored by Northerners escaping the cold winter to a warm climate. It is also the “dry season” for Panama- it rarely rains during these months.

The low season is May thru mid December. This is also called the “Green Season” because it rains most days. But don’t get the wrong idea. Rain in Panama just means a refreshing tropical rainstorm in the late afternoon. The rest of the day the sun shines. (It rarely rains all day except occasionally on the Atlantic coast in Bocas and the Colon Province.)

For North Americans, Panama’s low season happily coincides with the American summer- June-September- so take advantage of the bargains below.

As people get to know Panama, it will no longer have a low season because Panama is beautiful and interesting year round.
