This rustic alpine lodge, nestled in the highest village in Panama, enjoys fresh breezes and a mild climate year-round because of its proximity to Volcan Baru. On your way up to the hotel, you will pass various strawberry and cream stands, lush thoroughbred pastures, and the vibrantly dressed indigenous community of the Ngobe Bogle.

Dispersed among the organic gardens and ponds, the lodge houses 7 suites, 10 hotel rooms and a dormitory. Suites have hardwood floors, private fireplaces, a kitchenette and balcony ove. In addition, 5 cabins are tucked away in the national park and cloud forest 2200 meters above sea level, each with a stone fireplace, hot running water, kitchenette with gas stove, gas lamps and no electricity. Cabin 4 also functions as a mixed dorm.

The sustainably-minded restaurant serves chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes, and fresh daily produce from the organic garden and dairy from the hotel cow. A cozy bar-lounge with a central fireplace serves unique cocktail drinks such as the "Resplendant Quetzal"- a tradition to try if you happen to spot one during your stay! Order from the restaurant and have meals delivered to your cabin, or take up a box of ingredients to cook yourself.

Daily activities include a free 830 am guided hike to a waterfall, horseback riding, mountain biking, sauna, and daily yoga classes are also available. The full treatment spa next to the river offers facials, exfoliations, massages with only natural ingredients like honey, almond oil, oatmeal and volcanic mud. Kids: yes.
